Cinema cleaning lights are charging ecoglo® between screenings at Flagship Cinemas' Rockland, Maine, multiplex.
Flagship vice president and chief operating officer Andrew Poore says the company installed ecoglo® as an experiment in three new cinemas built late in 2001, and has found the ecoglo® installation easy.
"The overhead cleaning lights between screenings give ecoglo® enough power to last for an average movie, and it's working great. The strips get charged up for 15-20 minutes while we're cleaning the cinemas.
"I like the look of it, and there's no maintenance cost - there's no chance that a bulb will go and put out the whole strip like you get with electrical path-finding," he says.
What's more, Poore is saving on monthly costs for electric path-finding.
"The monthly electricity bill can be very costly for a facility the size of a theater. If you can reduce that, it's a help."
Installation was easy. "We gave the measurements of what we needed, and it all came pre-cut, ready to install," Poore says.
He will definitely consider ecoglo® for future cinema projects. "It's a no-brainer that it would be foolish to put lights in when you can put something that requires no maintenance for the life of the theater," he says. |
